Professional Learning CommunityResearch has shown that there is a strong correlation between the quality of education and quality teachers.  At DAT there is a strong focus on continued support and education of our teachers. DAT is proud to be a professional learning community (PLC) and has been for the past ten years. Professional learning communities build quality teachers through sustained collaborative professional development. Every year, teachers engage in weekly meetings as well as three full days and five partial days of professional development. Teachers are empowered to build the capacity within themselves as a team to create new programs for their students to differentiate in all subject areas and to invest the time in researching and applying best practices. In other words, our professional development encourages teachers to learn together on a regular basis, and it is this learning that directly results in the quality of education in the classroom.
