Mrs. Lisa stroll

Mrs. Stroll holds a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from the University of Alberta and a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Administration from Concordia University. She began her teaching career in Canada and moved to Atlanta in 1997 to teach middle school English at Torah Day School of Atlanta. During her tenure in Atlanta, Mrs. Stroll studied in Maine with Nancy Atwell at the Center for Teaching and Learning and moved into a teacher leader role for reading and writing instruction in the middle school. She also attended Teacher’s College Reading and Writing Project at Columbia University to broaden her teacher leader role to include kindergarten through fifth grade. After receiving her graduate degree, she began her role as Assistant Principal at Torah Day School of Atlanta, where she served for three years. Mrs. Stroll and her family moved to Denver in the summer of 2016 for her to serve as the Lower School Principal at Denver Academy of Torah. She currently serves as the K-12 principal and will begin her role as Head of School this summer.

Mrs. Stroll has attended both of Harvard’s Graduate School of Education Principal Center programs. She has also participated in YOU Lead, a leadership development program through Yeshiva University; and the Head of School Professional Excellence Program (HOSPEP) through Prizmah. Mrs. Stroll has 2 daughters who attend DAT, and two sons who live in Israel.

Rabbi Leib Zalesch

Judaics Curriculum Coordinator
Teaching since 2008 | At DAT since 2008

Rabbi Leib Zalesch has taught  middle school Judaic studies (Limudei Kodesh) at Denver Academy of Torah since 2008. He has, in the past, served as Special Activities Coordinator, and he continues to organize such annual favorites as Color War, Shabbatonim, learning challenges, Chidon Tanach, rafting trips, and outings to sporting events. 
 
Rabbi Zalesch completed his rabbinic ordination through Yeshiva University’s affiliated Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS), a program that included two years of study at YU’s RIETS Israel Kollel in Jerusalem. He holds a master’s degree in Jewish Education from YU’s Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education and a bachelor’s degree in history from Yeshiva College. 
 
He and his wife Yona are the proud parents of two current Denver Academy of Torah students, as well as two more who are excited to enroll when they are old enough to attend.
